I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do for a holiday dress this year. Our family holiday celebrations are usually fairly casual, but the school that I am on the board of holds an art and music celebration, and last year I made a nice Appleton dress.
Pattern Review: Cozy Wrap Cardigan by Hallå Patterns
The Cozy Wrap Cardigan pattern is a bit of a misnomer here because I did not actually choose to sew the cardigan view. Instead I chose the "Cross Front Sweater" view, which uses all the same pieces, except the bands are crossed at the front and then attached into the side seams. Having just finished my Cashmerette Dartmouth wrap top, I was really drawn to this similar wrap style look.
Pattern Review: Dartmouth Top by Cashmerette
The Dartmouth top by Cashmerette is the second item on the #makenine2019, and one I was excited to work on. I have a RTW wrap top that I love from the brand Soft Surroundings, and while it "fits" in the places I need it to, it is definitely not perfect.

Pattern Review: Concord T-Shirt by Cashmerette
The first item on my #MakeNine2019 list is the Concord t-shirt by Cashmerette, with the goal shirt being one using the black and white knit fabric kit that came with the pattern.

However, I was rereading some posts from Dr. T Designs, and one of... Continue Reading →
Kibbe, Style, Flying, Floating
“Nobody really metamorphoses. Cinderella is always Cinderella, just in a nicer dress. The Ugly Duckling was always a swan, just a smaller version. And I bet the tadpole and the caterpillar still feel the same, even when they're jumping and flying, swimming and floating.Just like I am now.” Holly Smale, Geek Girl I find this quote quite... Seeing with New Eyes
The past six months have been a journey for me of self-care, learning who I am now at this juncture of life, and adjusting my thinking about myself, my body, health and what it means to be fit. It began this summer when I started a new job, the first one after many years of... Continue Reading →
